It was suppose to be available shortly after the announcement of iPhone 4. Then, it was going to be available “in July”. As of last week, it was going to be released “at the end of July”. Well, fahgetaboutit, says Apple:
White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.
Apple hasn’t specified what the problem is. It’s just a color, right? I mean, how hard can it be to create a white phone? I could understand if they were trying to go all crayola 64 color on us, but come on, we’re talking an easy color here, right?
The senior news analyst for NPR and Washington veteran journalist has died.
Schorr died Friday at a Washington hospital after a brief illness, said Anna Christopher, a spokeswoman for National Public Radio, where Schorr continued to work as a senior news analyst and commentator.
Schorr’s career of more than six decades spanned the spectrum of journalism — beginning in print, then moving to television where he spent 23 years with CBS News and ending with NPR. He also wrote several books, including his memoir, "Staying Tuned: A Life in Journalism."
I myself wonder what the hubbub is all about. Everyone knows the main stream media is a clique largely populated by left wingers. Cliques hang together and commiserate with one another. Before Jourolist, these people met for drinks after hours in overpriced bars to discuss their trade. You gotta believe there was plenty of collusion back in the day. You can’t blame the interwebs for starting this stuff. The ‘net just gave these guys easier access to one another, and less hangovers too, I imagine. So for people to be jaw-dropped over the fact that liberal members of the media talk with one another about “fairness” in their “unbiased” news reporting, and at times try to influence each other to gang up on other “out of compliance” media outlets is just plain silly. This stuff started long ago, and won’t end just because Journolist is offline.
I’ll give them an “A” for creativity, but really, what the heck is that thing? Wikipedia calls it a Typewriter. I mean, I know what a laptop looks like, and I still have a PC keyboard laying around someplace, but what is that big black thing with the paper sticking out of the top? What do you do with it?
What message does this send? A visual like this says one thing – we’re out of touch. Again, I can’t fault them for trying to stand out, but stand out they do, with a big piece of hardware that most people haven’t seen or used in decades. It’s fitting.
You remember the big block of voters who came out of nowhere in 2008 to vote for The One, don’t you? Yeah, those brainless, out of touch with reality, touchy-feely sheep who were hypnotized by the second coming of the pseudo messiah. Those voters.
Well, Obama understands that 2010 will be a blow out for the Dems if he doesn’t "reconnect" with "his" base. So he pulled out the teleprompter, set up his YouTube camera, and went to work.

The question is, will it work this time around? Everyone knows voter turn out for congressional elections is notoriously lackluster. The only way Obama can effectively rally the lemmings is if he manipulates a willing media into putting him on TV (in a positive light) nightly from say, late September until the vote in November. Unfortunately for Barry, this time around the media might have to go to Defcon 5 to filter out the discontent of real voters who are intelligent enough to realize what kind of train wreck the Obama presidency has been to date. ABC-CBS-NBC-CNN-MSNBC-PBS will have to manufacture some interesting camera angles to blunt out the thousands of people holding signs like this one.
North Korea on Saturday warned it was prepared to use nuclear weapons if it was invaded by the US and South Korea. The official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) carried the remarks by the North’s Joint Chief, General Ri Yong-Ho, during a national meeting on the eve of the birthday of the communist country’s armed forces. ”The revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK (North Korea) are fully ready to frustrate any provocation of the aggressors at a single blow,” Ri said. ”They will mobilise all means including the nuclear deterrent.
Theory: Kim reads the internet. He watches a lot of campy Hollywood DVD movies too but that’s beside the point. If he thinks the homeland isn’t getting enough press, he sends out out one of these little nuke rants. Presto, instant newsmaker. Works like a charm. One of the Sunday shows will have it, and it’ll probably play during the press gaggle at the White House on Monday too.
Lest you think the GOP is gearing up for a quick November 2010 election win and an even quicker repeal of Health Care Reform, think again.
In a brief chat with the Huffington Post on Tuesday, National Republican Senatorial Committee chair John Cornyn (R-Tex.) implicitly acknowledged that Republicans are content with allowing some elements of Obama’s reform into law. And they’d generally ignore those elements when taking the fight to their Democrat opponents as November approaches.
Realistically, a full repeal is probably a loser position in November. After all, when asked, most Republicans in congress are quick to note that there are points of agreement with Democrats on certain aspects of Health Care Reform. You know, the whole pre-existing conditions stuff, etc.
I was just wondering how long it would take for someone in the party to speak up and “clarify” the campaign year position on what it means to get rid of Obamacare. For the record, it took just over two hours after the bill got signed. Expect more “clarity” as we get closer to fall.
