This is just soooo 1964. Or even, 1984.
Closing in on the March 4 contests, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., debuted a campaign ad on Friday with ominous undertones.
“It’s 3:00am and your children are asleep,” a voice over says in the ad. “There’s a phone in the White House, and it’s ringing. Something is happening in the world. Your vote will decide who answers that call.”
“Whether someone knows the world’s leaders, knows the military, someone tested and ready to lead. It’s 3am and your children are safe and asleep. Who do you want answering the phone?” the ad concludes.
Desperate times require desperate measures, and this is a clear desperation move by the Clinton campaign. The delegate math hasn’t been in her favor for weeks now and she knows it. This will be napalm weekend. Watch for it.

It’s been a rumor for weeks, but now Dr. Rusty Shackleford has fresh information from sources that tell him the American al Qaeda member and traitor Adam Gadahn was killed after a U.S. Predator drone killed Abu Laith al-Libi.

S.S. Hillary is listing, taking on water fast, and those on board are pointing fingers. In fact, everybody’s gettin’ into the act now. Ickes. Huffington. Even perennial loser Bob Shrum.
The end is near.

One of Britain’s most influential black figures suggests that guilt over transatlantic slavery is behind Barack Obama’s support from middle class whites in America. Trevor Phillips, chairman of the Equality and Human Rights Commission is no stranger to controversy with his comments on race relations in the U.K.
“If Obama can succeed, then maybe they can imagine that [Martin Luther] King’s post-racial nirvana has arrived. A vote for Obama is a pain-free negation of their own racism. So long as they don’t have to live next door to him; Obama has yet to win convincingly in white districts adjacent to black communities.”
Wait for it.
Mr Phillips compared Mr Obama to Bill Cosby and Oprah Winfrey, prominent black “bargainers” – those who strike a deal with white America not to make an issue of historical racism if their own race is not used against them.
Bargainer, huh? Isn’t that code for “Uncle Tom”?
Not only is Mr. Phillips dismissing the legitimacy of the Democratic party’s Messiah, he’s also twisting the knife on Mother Mary, a.k.a. Oprah.
“In truth, Obama may be helping to postpone the arrival of a post-racial America and I think he knows it,” Mr Phillips wrote. “If he wins, the cynicism may be worth it to him and his party. In the end he is a politician and a very good one: his job is to win elections.” He added: “If he fulfils the hopes of whites, he must disappoint blacks – and vice versa.”
Do you get a sense that if there were no race issues there would be no job for Mr. Phillips? I do.

Lookout iPhone!
Want to know what the cell phone of the future will look like? Nokia offered a glimpse Monday when it unveiled its new “Morph” concept phone, a solar-powered, self-cleaning and shape-shifting mobile device.
Based on the company’s research in nanotechnology — the science of building electronics at the subatomic level — the phone will be made out of material that can change into different shapes.
Here’s the video demo.

Tell the truth now…Can you look this guy in the face and believe that he could really chain a Norwegian male escort to a wall in his house?
Come on…search your soul.
Boy George, the former Culture Club singer, appeared in court today accused of chaining a Norwegian male escort to the wall of his Shoreditch home.
The 46-year-old pop-star and DJ denied assaulting and imprisoning Audun Carlsen on April 28 last year when he appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court, east London.

Keith Richards, in a recent interview, manages to get his mouth working well enough to claim Mick Jagger is a “power freak” and a “bit vain”. Who knew?
“Mick’s a maniac. He can’t get up in the morning without knowing immediately who he’s going to call,” the 64-year-old Richards said.
“Meanwhile, I just go ‘Thank God I’m awake’ and wait for three or four hours before I do anything. He is a power freak and there’s nothing we can do about it. I don’t want to do anything about it. Let him bugger about. It doesn’t make any difference to what we do.”

…and most other candidates for political office do too. For the past 45+ years, it’s been standard operating procedure also known as ‘doing what it takes to get elected.’
Barack Obama has ratcheted up his attacks on NAFTA, but a senior member of his campaign team told a Canadian official not to take his criticisms seriously, CTV News has learned.
Within the last month, a top staff member for Obama’s campaign telephoned Michael Wilson, Canada’s ambassador to the United States, and warned him that Obama would speak out against NAFTA, according to Canadian sources.
The staff member reassured Wilson that the criticisms would only be campaign rhetoric, and should not be taken at face value.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying lying to get elected is okay. It’s not. But somewhere in the political playbook, this kind of thing isn’t defined as lying. It’s defined as nuance. It’s giving your potential voting constituency a taste of where your head is at. It’s about intentions, not action. The entire Obama campaign is built upon this framework.
So, am I shocked that Obama staffers are calling and warning Canadian officials ahead of time to take the rhetoric with a grain of salt? Not in the least. Obama’s not the first and he won’t be the last. It’s a lesson though to those of us who listen to speeches, political debates, and campaign propaganda. Always apply the proper filter, and count on a certain percentage of disappointed when your candidate is elected.

Sounds like a royal family driven PR campaign to me.
They’re calling him “Harry the Hero!”
British Royal Prince Harry has been fighting in Afghanistan since late December — and has been directly involved in battle.
Australian magazine NEW IDEA and the German daily BILD have broken world embargoes on the development. CNN has debated internally on the merits of reporting Harry at war.
The prince, a junior officer in the Blues and Royals, and third in line to the throne, has been a “magnificent soldier” and an “inspiration to all of Briton.”
Prince Harry is talking part in a new offensive against the Taliban.
Ministry of Defense and Clarence House refuse all comment. Army chiefs have managed to keep the prince away from media and have encourage fellow soldiers in his squadron to stay quiet.
I have absolutely no problem with Prince Harry wanting to serve his country. I applaud him for that. In fact, I’d bet he’s he type who would rather keep this whole thing quiet. Problem is, he’s surrounded by old people who want to keep the magic of the Windsor Dynasty alive. A quest to manufacture in Harry the kind of reverence found previously in Diana.
Ooops, hold on.
I’m actually blogging about the royal family. My apologies.
Nevermind.
