I predict…

— They’ll each get a big book deal

— One of them will get their own cable TV show

— The other will become “Chief Legal Correspondent” for ABC, NBC, CBS or CNN

After reading this article, I thought about the joke uttered by Danny DeVito in “The War of the Roses”.

“What do you call 1000 lawyers at the bottom of the sea?”

“A good start.”

For all the accolades showered on Cynthia McKinney by the press for her “apology” today on the house floor, she still hasn’t apologized to the cop she hit.

McKinney’s actions today were about politics and pressure from her fellow Democrats. It had nothing to do with sincerity.

The World Newser, ABC World News Tonight’s “blog” contains a new photo and a post today from Bob Woodruff, the news anchor who was wounded in Iraq alongside his camera man months ago.

The Congressman from Arizona had this to say about the immigration compromise introduced today:

“The Senate compromise is so convoluted, so complicated, and so unworkable that is surely must have been the work of Senators Rube and Goldberg.

“This is deja vu all over again. The 1986 amnesty law had a similar approach, and that was a catastrophe. It said if you could prove you did agricultural work for just 90 days a year for the previous three years, you would qualify for a green card. The number of those applying for this benefit was three times higher than expected, largely because of fraud, which was rampant. The Senate bill would likewise be vulnerable to fraud on a grand scale and be a nightmare to administer. It is amnesty wrapped in bureaucracy surrounded by fraud.”

If you take a look at this thing, it’s hard to call it anything but an amnesty program for law breakers. NRO’s John O’Sullivan shares his thoughts here.

Representative Cynthia McKinney has apologized for the scuffle with Capitol Police. It’s clear that the Democrats have gotten to her. Soon as the transcript, video, or both are available, I’ll post it.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I come before this body to personally express again my sincere regret about the encounter with the capitol hill police. I appreciate my colleagues who are standing with me, who love this institution, and who love this country. There should not have been any physical contact in this incident. I have always supported law enforcement and will be voting for H.R. 756, Expressing my gratitude and appreciation to the professionalism and dedication of the men and women of the u.S. Capitol police. I am sorry that this misunderstanding happened at all and i regret its escalation and i apologize. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Huffington Post has video of Tom DeLay and Chris Matthews talking to one another just before going live on the air. Matthews gushes over DeLay handing him the news of his resignation before anyone else, and DeLay comments on Hillary. Good stuff.

I’m so glad he’s not our president.

Soledad O’Brien asked Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney again and again to recount for viewers exactly what happened the day she was stopped by Capitol Police after bypassing security. She refused to answer, but instead, continued to ramble on and on about racial profiling and accuse Capitol Police of being racists. The police chief has denied the charges.

From my vantage point, I’d say McKinney is the racist. Others agree.
