Via AP: A second round of DNA testing in the Duke University lacrosse rape case came back with the same result as the first – no conclusive match to any member of the team, defense attorneys said Friday.

Could it be any more obvious that CNN longs to relive the 90’s? The Clinton shillers should be ashamed of themselves for commissioning such a blatantly biased and worthless poll.

Poll: Clinton outperformed Bush

In a new poll comparing President Bush’s job performance with that of his predecessor, a strong majority of respondents said President Clinton outperformed Bush on a host of issues.

They even have a link to a video that says, “Watch whether Americans are getting nostalgic for the Clinton era.” Puhleeze!

Just what service does this provide? What good is it? Hellooooo! Bill Clinton isn’t president anymore. We’re not going back (thank God!).

CNN stinks.

President George W. Bush will address the nation on Monday night to make the case for a comprehensive overhaul of U.S. immigration law. As I see it, this will be his one chance to seriously address the crisis and give Republicans the advantage going into the mid term elections. To do that he must side with the majority of American people. He must also oppose a minority of Latin Americans who believe in amnesty for illegal aliens. Some in the Beltway believe he will sacrifice the Latino vote if he denies the millions of undocumented immigrants instant citizenship status. I don’t think so. As far as I can tell, a majority of legal immigrants in this country are opposed to the amnesty offer. They’ll surely stay with the president if he were to support existing laws.

On Monday night I’ll be looking for the president to announce an increase in border patrol enforcement, be it agents or the National Guard. He should announce unequivocal support for existing immigration law and security enforcement. He can give support to a future guest worker program, but he must require that the existing messy immigration system be cleaned up first. As such, he should announce that the army corp of engineers will immediately begin constructing a wall on the border to keep more illegals from entering the country.

If Bush does this a majority of Americans will be with him, his poll numbers will go up, the GOP will have a message for the mid terms and we’ll have a better chance of keeping our majority. It will be a pivotal moment in the Bush presidency and could shape the election outcome in 2008.

Mr. President, we’ll be watching.

The Washington Post and ABC News have conducted a poll on the NSA program to log telephone numbers and mine the data for terrorist activity. The results show that a majority of the people support the effort as an effective way to combat terrorism. This runs contrary to the Beltway’s weeping and gnashing of teeth, and short circuits the siren wail of the MSM.

The new survey found that 63 percent of Americans said they found the NSA program to be an acceptable way to investigate terrorism, including 44 percent who strongly endorsed the effort. Another 35 percent said the program was unacceptable, which included 24 percent who strongly objected to it.

A slightly larger majority–66 percent–said they would not be bothered if NSA collected records of personal calls they had made, the poll found.

Underlying those views is the belief that the need to investigate terrorism outweighs privacy concerns.

In other words, a majority of people would rather live than be killed as a result of a surprise terrorist attack on our homeland. Make sense to me.

Of course I would be remiss if I were to withhold my reservations on instantly parroting a poll that seems to agree with what I believe. That is what most liberals do, and seeing as how I know that poll results are a direct result of the questions asked, I feel a little queasy waving this poll as an example of God honest truth. For now though, I’ll stay with my hunch that this poll is probably closer to the truth than most.

The MSM hasn’t let go of the story yet. Most are playing catch up to USA Today. Obviously their story yesterday caught many by surprise. As a result, we can look forward to this being a topic on the Sunday shows. It will be interesting to hear the opinions of Congress members now that this poll is out. Expect a lot of U-turns.

The lefty blogs seem disappointed that Americans aren’t as paranoid as they are. I suspect they’re upset that they won’t be able to gain much more traction with this story. Yesterday, their roller coaster was on top. Today, it’s come barreling down. Man, it must be tough to ride that ride day in and day out. But hey, it’s not like they can’t get off whenever they want.

Rep. John Murtha lives in another world. Or maybe he hears voices. What else could explain these unexplainable predictions for 2007?

According to Maha Murtha:

— American troops will be brought home from Iraq by 2007. Either President Bush will bow to public opinion or Democrats will have won control of the House of Representatives and increased pressure on the White House.

— There will be a “tidal wave” that propels Democrats into the majority. Democrats will gain 40-50 seats.

This, of course, is absurd. I’m not about to predict that the Democrats won’t win back a majority in the House of Representatives come November, but they absolutely won’t do it by winning back 40 to 50 seats. That’s laughable.

And I hate to break it to Gampa Murtha, but George W. Bush will not bow to public opinion on Iraq. He may make compromises on smaller issues, but when it comes to the war, he’s committed.

Now go back to your shuffle board game Johnny, and for goodness’ sake, don’t forget to take your meds next time.

I don’t regularly watch the show, but I was intrigued by this little bit of news. Last night, Chris Daughtry was eliminated, much to the shock of the 25 million people who regularly watch the talent show. So, while Chris won’t be America’s next idol, he’ll fall into that group of almost winners who end up getting recording contracts anyway.

Yet, it seems as though Chris’ luck is greater than average. Tonight, live on the television show ‘EXTRA’, Chris will be offered a job to be the lead singer for a well known established rock band. While it’s supposed to be a secret, news is slowly leaking out that the band in question is Fuel.

So, for all you Chris Daughtry fans out there who are still reeling from his send off last night, reel no more. Chris will get his anyway.

Nope, I’m not referring to the flipper-in-chief, Sen. John Kerry. I’m talking about the Democratic Party’s other “problem” – Chairman Howard Dean. He reportedly told evangelical viewers of CBN’s The 700 Club the 2004 Democratic Party platform declares that “marriage is between a man and a woman”. Well, the platform certainly doesn’t say that, and gay rights groups freaked out. So, what did Howard do? He addressed the gaffe today by setting the record straight.

Dean acknowledged: “I misstated the Democratic Party’s platform, which does not say marriage should be limited to a man and a woman,” and reasserted the party’s commitment to equal protection for all.

But did Howard go back on The 700 Club to clarify his blatant lie which was clearly a bona fide pander job to evangelicals?

Nope.

If this is an indication of what we can expect from the new Press Secretary, a big ‘ol rusty wrench will be thrown into the MSM’s modus operandi.

New White House Press Secretary Tony Snow is starting off in a combative mode against the press by issuing detailed rebuttals to what he considers unfair coverage of Bush.

“The New York Times continues to ignore America’s economic progress,” blared the headline of an e-mail sent to reporters Wednesday by the White House press office.

Minutes earlier, another e-mail blasted CBS News, which has had an unusually rocky relationship with the White House since 2004, when CBS aired what turned out to be forged documents in a failed effort to question the president’s military service.

“CBS News misleadingly reports that only 8 million seniors have signed up for Medicare prescription drug coverage,” Wednesday’s missive said. “But 37 million seniors have coverage.” On Tuesday, the White House railed against “USA Today’s misleading Medicare story.”

“USA Today claims ‘poor, often minority’ Medicare beneficiaries are not enrolling in Medicare drug coverage,” the press office complained. “But by April, more than 70 percent of eligible African Americans, more than 70 percent of eligible Hispanics, and more than 75 percent of eligible Asian Americans are enrolled or have retiree drug coverage.”

White House sources said Snow, who started on the job Monday and has yet to give his first public press briefing, is determined to aggressively counter what the administration considers unfair assertions in both news and editorials about Bush. At the same time, he is eager to make the notoriously secretive administration more accessible to the press.

And I might add, just in the nick of time. This administrations PR machine has been lacking the will to combat the daily barrage of attacks brought on by it’s enemies. With Tony Snow in charge of the message, I’m hopeful that our days of malaise are over.

Is our National Security worth anything anymore? When you think about the rash of leaked information to the press, you’d wonder. Frankly, it makes me furious that a few rogue CIA agents harbor so much animosity at the Bush administration that they’d willingly dial their media friends and put our country at risk. And it’s not just the CIA either. The loose lips are everywhere. Congress, the Pentagon, the FBI and elsewhere. It’s a plague that must be stopped.
