Got stuck at work, then traveled home at 5 mph in ice and snow. As such, I missed the State of the Union address. I’ll have to watch it later. Until then, this is a great place to go to find a wide range of reaction.

When asked to respond to the recent endorsements for Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton repeated the usual cadre of talking point pablum. In the shadow of Obama’s trouncing in South Carolina, a reported asked Hillary about polls showing a tightening of the race in Arizona. In response, she offered up this gem.
“I don’t pay much attention to polls.”
Ummm, pardon me for a moment.
Heh. Heh heh.
Hillary.Doesn’t.Pay.Attention.To.Polls.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!!!
Someone should ask Dick Morris to comment on that one.

Here’s what makes the news on a Friday afternoon.
MSNBC blames Romney whisper on microphone malfunction
The whisper that could be heard just before an answer from Mitt Romney at Thursday’s Republican debate was the result of a microphone malfunction, an MSNBC spokesman tells RAW STORY, but its source remains a mystery.
Just before Romney answered a question about Ronald Reagan’s 1983 Social Security overhaul, a voice can be heard whispering, either “He raised taxes” or “not raise taxes.” The overheard musing was the result of an open microphone somewhere, but a spokesman said the whisperer has not been identified.
“We heard the same thing you heard,” MSNBC VP for Communications Jeremy Gaines told RAW STORY via e-mail Friday afternoon. “There was obviously an open mike which picked up the whisper, but we have no way of knowing who did the whispering.”
Of course, the implication is that Romney, allegedly wearing an earpiece, was being coached by a staffer speaking into a wireless microphone somewhere in the building.
Puh-leeeze.

I dunno, I just think this is complete insanity.
For the second consecutive day, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn’t in the locker room or at practice when reporters and cameramen were allowed inside Friday.
During the 45-minute period in the locker room, several cameramen lingered near his locker, but he didn’t show up. Nor was he there for the first 12 minutes of practice that the media were allowed to watch.Asked if he could say whether Brady would practice Friday, New England coach Bill Belichick said, “Not now. We’ll see.”
Brady was photographed in New York on Monday wearing a protective boot on his right foot. He took it off later in the day and hasn’t been photographed wearing it since. He reportedly has a minor high ankle sprain that isn’t expected to keep him out of the Super Bowl against the New York Giants on Feb. 3.
Brady wasn’t seen during the first 15 minutes of Thursday’s workout to which media were admitted, nor in the locker room.
Do you really think anything short of complete cardiac arrest would keep Tom Brady from playing in the Super Bowl? This speculation over his status is nutso.
My prediction? 31-17 Pats. Mark it.
Pppppttttthhhhh.

So much for his “I’m in this to the convention” rhetoric.
Democrat Dennis Kucinich is abandoning his second, long-shot bid for the White House as he faces a tough fight to hold onto his other job — U.S. congressman.
In an interview with Cleveland’s Plain Dealer, the six-term House member said he was quitting the race and would make a formal announcement on Friday.
“I will be announcing that I’m transitioning out of the presidential campaign,” Kucinich said. “I’m making that announcement tomorrow about a new direction.”
Kucinich has received little support in his presidential bid; he got 1 percent of the vote in the New Hampshire primary and was shut out in the Iowa caucuses. He did have a devoted following.
This guy knows how to play to the eye of the camera, and he jumped in its view every chance he got. His policy positions are some of the wackiest out there, but you gotta give Kucinich a gold star for tenacity.
