Apopo – rats who sniff and find explosives. Not just any rats though. These are African giant pouched rats. According to the Belgians, the rats are trained to detect and pinpoint the location of the landmine. Their lightweight makes it highly unlikely they would set of a mine by scratching or pointing. Yet, I can’t help but think a few have unknowingly become kamikazes.

Ok, that’s it. I’m going to head right over and list those voices in my head. But, which shipping method do I choose?

Rumor has it, the patient ate a grilled cheese sandwich before he had his teeth x-rayed.

Just as O.J. is “still out looking for the killers” who murdered Nichole Simpson and Ron Brown, Sirhan Sirhan’s lawyers are attempting to prevent the destruction of the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, the place where their client assassinated Bobby Kennedy. They claim that the hotel contains evidence that shows Sirhan Sirhan is innocent.

Puh-leez.

Zero blogging today. This afternoon, the PunditKids, PunditWife and I get to usher in Sinterklaas to our town. It’s an annual event for our little Dutch town. After that, it’s the Lighted Christmas Parade, which amounts to a dozen or so diary farmers driving their 18 wheeler milk trucks through the city. All the trucks are lit up with Christmas lights. On the surface, it’s all pretty silly, but hey, the kids love it. Go figure.

A Florida panhandle couple is under arrest after notifying police Thursday that their quarter-pound stash of marijuana was stolen and that they needed the weed back, because they were going to later sell it.

Heh.

9News in Denver has new information on the jet crash. According to Ebersol, the plane struggled to rise 20 feet in the air before slamming back down and sliding to the end of the runway where it exploded into flames.

The Ebersol family and NBC have issued statements.
