If this RHINO were to be ousted, it wouldn’t bother me in the least.

Moderate Republican Sen. Lincoln Chafee battles for political survival against a conservative challenger in Rhode Island on Tuesday as voters in nine states choose candidates for November elections.

Chafee hopes to avoid becoming the second incumbent U.S. senator to lose a primary in as many months, following Democratic Sen. Joseph Lieberman’s August loss in Connecticut to an anti-war challenger.

Chafee, who has often broken with Republican President George W. Bush, faces a challenge from the right from Cranston Mayor Stephen Laffey in what could be an unpredictable primary.

Laffey says Chafee is a big spender who is out of touch with the northeastern state of Rhode Island. But the White House and establishment Republicans have flocked to help Chafee, believing he offers their best hope of beating Democratic candidate Sheldon Whitehouse in November and keeping the seat in Republican hands.

And therein lies the problem. Chafee gets the help of the Republican party just to keep his seat in the Senate warm, yet he votes like a Democrat and talks like a Moonbat. We need less of him.

After decades of oppression, some of Saddam’s victims get a chance to look him in the face and freely say what they think.

A Kurdish villager testified Tuesday that he fled an attack by Saddam Hussein’s forces 18 years ago, leaving behind his mother and two sisters. Years later, their identity cards were discovered in a mass grave, he said.

“Congratulations! you are in a cage, Saddam,” witness Ghafour Hassan Abdullah said as he stared at the ousted president. Hussein later lashed out at “agents of Iran and Zionism” in the courtroom and vowed to “crush your heads.”

It’ll be a great day when this guy is put to sleep.

These days, you never know who’ll come to your rescue.

Gunmen apparently blew up a car outside the U.S. Embassy and exchanged fire with Syrian guards on Tuesday in a brazen attack on Damascus’ diplomatic neighborhood. Syrian security forces killed three of the attackers, the government said. The Interior Ministry, which is in charge of police, said a fourth assailant was wounded in what it called a “terrorist attack.”

Apparently, the group is an offshoot of Al-Qaida.

While they haven’t completely caved (as I predicted they would), ABC has wimped out of a fight with the Clintonistas. They have reportedly edited out 30 minutes of footage from “The Path to 9/11”. It’s not clear yet which cuts were made.

The former Vice President threatens to relive 2000.

“I haven’t completely ruled out running for president again in the future but I don’t expect to,” Gore said before the Sunday night premiere of “An Inconvenient Truth.”

“I offer the explanation not as an effort to be coy or clever. It’s just the internal shifting of gears after being in politics almost 30 years. I hate to grind the gears,” he added.

The beltway is whispering about Hillary’s decision not to run (because she can’t win), so now we have Gore stepping in with this trial balloon.
