Vice President Dick Cheney to Tim Russert on NBC’s Meet the Press:

MR. RUSSERT: Should I be relieved you didn’t bring your shotgun in today?

VICE PRES. CHENEY: I wouldn’t worry about it. You’re not in season.

While they haven’t completely caved (as I predicted they would), ABC has wimped out of a fight with the Clintonistas. They have reportedly edited out 30 minutes of footage from “The Path to 9/11”. It’s not clear yet which cuts were made.

The former Vice President threatens to relive 2000.

“I haven’t completely ruled out running for president again in the future but I don’t expect to,” Gore said before the Sunday night premiere of “An Inconvenient Truth.”

“I offer the explanation not as an effort to be coy or clever. It’s just the internal shifting of gears after being in politics almost 30 years. I hate to grind the gears,” he added.

The beltway is whispering about Hillary’s decision not to run (because she can’t win), so now we have Gore stepping in with this trial balloon.
