New Poll Bad News for Democrats

According to a late February poll conducted by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press, 53 percent of Americans now believe the U.S. will succeed in Iraq. Normally this would be great news, and a big morale boost for the military. But for the Democratic party, this great news couldn’t come at a worse time. If Democrats have any hope of winning in November, the U.S. must lose in Iraq. Violence must increase. More U.S. soldiers must die. This is a major piece of the party platform. It is the only message Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi know how to deliver in front of the cameras they seek out every day. It is a cornerstone of Barack Obama’s candidacy. His message of hope and change is predicated upon a losing effort in Iraq. If we’re winning (and we are), Democrats are losing.

Look for the MSM to ignore this good news. And don’t count on hearing anything about our winning prospects from the DNC. It’s a losing strategy for them.

Obama Needs to Denounce Pastor’s Rhetoric

ABC News highlights the inflammatory statements of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago’s south side. This just happens to be the home church of Barack Obama, who has attended for the past 20 years. He and his wife were married by Rev. Wright, and Obama’s two children were baptized by him.

ABC (and other members of the MSM) have spent some time sifting through the sermons delivered by Rev. Wright and they’ve found some interesting things. He has made the assertion that the U.S. brought on the September 11 attacks with its own terrorism.

Obama has written off these statements claiming that Wright is like “some old uncle who says things I don’t always agree with.” Yet to most of us, the statements of Rev. Wright cannot be thrown aside. They’re standard radical liberal fare. In fact, given that the statements were delivered from the pulpit, this indoctrination is even more worrisome. It’s no wonder Michelle Obama has been known to deliver her own speeches which call her love of America into question.

A man’s character can best be judged by the company he keeps. If Obama has really been a faithful member of this United Church of Christ fellowship, then he’s has willingly sat under the instruction of Rev. Wright. As a church member, Obama is free to worship where he wants and agree or disagree with anyone he chooses. But, as a presidential candidate, Obama needs to denounce any anti-American rhetoric, even if it comes from his pastor. If he does not, he can guarantee his acceptance of Wright will come back at him during the general election.
