Tonight’s the Night

Hillary has to perform tonight. In fact, she has to perform so well that she simultaneously wins over a majority of voters in Texas AND Ohio. And she doesn’t just have to win them over, she has to somehow convinced them to come to the polls on March 4 and vote for her, enthusiastically, so she wins a HUGE majority of the vote. Only this miracle will keep her in the race.

And so that’s what she’s up against this evening. And what with the craziness that’s happened since the weekend, she’s liable to take a swing at Barack Obama, on live TV, then when he’s lying on the ground, pick him up by his big ol’ Dumbo ears and parade him around the stage screaming, “Is this really what you want America? WHAT? WHAT? Come on Mr. Deity, command the lighting boy, command, I say!!!”

I doubt she’ll do that though.

I’ll be watching, nonetheless.

Say Goodbye to Neverland

Since he doesn’t seem to have $24,525,906.61 laying around his hotel room, Michael Jackson will watch as his beloved Neverland Ranch is auctioned off to the highest bidder. So, what do you get if you’re the winning bidder? You get the house, plus all the freaky stuff – all Jackson’s personal property inside (what’s left of it), all fixtures, appliances, furniture, and all the kids merry-go-round crap outside too. In other words, every stinkin’ thing is up for grabs.

Here’s the official notice of sale (PDF).

Have fun kiddies.

1.1.4 Released

If you’re a happy owner of an iPhone (like me) you’ll be glad to know that a new software version has been released by Apple. 1.1.4 can be obtained by connecting your iPhone to iTunes, or by direct download.

By the way, I just did the upgrade and my phone is happy as can be. Your mileage may very, so proceed with the usual caution (i.e. backup).

Oh, if you’re in the mood to spend money, Apple bumped the specs of their Macbook and Macbook Pro notebook computers.

Latest Clinton Trick Foiled

A letter to the editor response to a New York Times story written by Patrick Healy suggesting that the Clinton campaign was fading fast has been rejected by the newspaper.

The editorial page editor said the letter was really nothing more than a press release in disguise.

Apparently, this particular space of newsprint real estate is held for “ordinary readers”, and not campaign talking points. Who knew?

Hey, Who Turned Out the Lights?

I wonder if a janitor accidently spilled coffee on a control board at a nuclear plant in Florida today?

After knocking almost 3 million people off the grid, officials found an equipment failure and fire at a substation in Miami. That, in turn, shut down the nuclear plant. While a lot of the power has been restored, at this hour, 20,000 are still dark.

Dodd Hearts Obama

In yet another blow to Hillary Clinton, Senator Chris Dodd goes for the Messiah, and brings with him some big time influence on the hill in Washington.

If you’re keeping track, that’s another nail in the coffin.

Naomi’s Flesh

Super-dee-duper model Naomi Campbell has been hospitalized in Brazil and is being treated by one of them top notch doctor types who specializes in infectious diseases. Official reports say a small cyst has been removed. Unofficial reports claim she has ‘flesh-eating’ disease.

Here’s another official report – after thinking for a second about flesh-eating disease, I actually threw up in my mouth, just a little bit.

Get well soon, Naomi.

Channeling Jimmy Carter

The shape of things to come?

Based on his Senate history, Barack Obama as president would likely push to expand human rights and reduce poverty abroad using cooperation rather than confrontation, if foreign events permit. Aside from his vigorous opposition to the Iraq war, Obama spent more of his time on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on speeches and inspirational trips than on investigations and aggressive oversight.

With the bright lights of the media on Mr. Obama these days, it’s easy for people to get caught up in the “dream” of his probable nomination and his subsequent ascension to the presidency. That’s where the fantasy will end. Unfortunately, the MSM is completely in love with this guy, so the chances are nil that any of his extreme leftist beliefs will surface prior to November ’08.

Polls! Polls! Polls!

The Gallup people asked, “Who Do You Think Will Win the Democratic Nomination for President?” The results are pretty clear.

Not only does Obama enjoy this perceptual aura of inevitability, but he also is widely seen as the candidate who would provide the stiffer challenge for John McCain in November. Republicans say he would be tougher for McCain to beat, and Democrats say he would have the best chance of beating McCain come November.

Rasmussen Reports polled likely primary voters in Ohio. Hillary Clinton shows 48% to Obama’s 43%. He’s up 5 percentage points in one week. That’s got the Clinton Campaign in panic mode, and their flight or fight situation has put them in a precarious position. Voters hate overtly negative stump speeches and advertising, yet when you’re backed into the corner, you have few choices.

Such is the state of Hillary’s world today.
