Is it me or are Democrats angry that Bush publicly took the blame today for all the things the Feds didn’t do right in the Gulf Coast? Isn’t that what they wanted him to do? Yet, the moment he does it, they are mad that he did it.

Here’s her suggestions on how to kick Bush out of office:

To get rid of Bush before 2008, the task is twofold:

1. Take back Congress — or, at least enough seats to make an impeachment possible. (Half of the House. Two thirds of the Senate.)

This isn’t easy. I don’t know if it is possible. But if you want to make it happen, start TODAY. Don’t wait for election day in 2006–get involved with your upcoming House and Senate races NOW–donate, volunteer, get involved in any way you can.

Two words Shaula. Pixie Dust.

2. Dilute Brand GOP

Right now, the Republican party embraces Bush. Don’t let the Katrina debacle be pinned on Bush alone. Tar the entire Republican party with the same brush. Hang the criminal negligence on all of them.

In other words, make it worth their while to choose to divorce themselves from Bush.

OK, just a second. Hang on just one minute. Let me get this straight. Democrats are suppose to convince Republicans that they should “divorce themselves” from George W. Bush. Heh.     Heh.          Heh.

Heh heh.

Oh, (ahem) heh. OK, heh heh. Alrighty…I’ve got it together now, sorry. 

The most obvious way they can announce that divorce to their constituents, to the country and to the world is to support a Bush impeachment.

Short version: wishful thinking isn’t going to give you an impeachment. If you want to get rid of Bush, roll up your sleeves and work for it.

Oh, I can’t stand it any longer.

I don’t understand this at all.

Contrary to earlier reports, it appears that Superdome officials aren’t quite ready to demolish the 30+ year old structure.

Experts will have to clean and decontaminate the Louisiana Superdome before the stadium’s future can be determined.

Superdome officials took their first look at the Superdome, which was wrecked while housing thousands of people seeking refuge from Hurricane Katrina, on Friday. Those officials said Tuesday that mounds of trash have been removed from the concourses and the interior is still dark, waterlogged and vile smelling.

The roof sustained large gashes during the hurricane and the rubber coating that covered the huge dome was blown off. Water leaked throughout the building, flooding corridors outside the first-floor locker rooms and suites, pouring down elevator shafts and sending water-logged acoustic tiles crashing onto soaked carpets.

Electricity went off during the hurricane and a generator powered only emergency lighting. There was no air conditioning and large areas of the building, including the bathrooms, were completely dark.

“There is substantial damage, but we have to wait to see what its long-term effect on the structure will be,” said Glenn Menard, Superdome manager.

Given what went on in there, why is it so necessary to salvage this place? Is it because the cost of replacement would be too high? What?

Any decision that did not involve restoring the Superdome would be an unpopular one, Menard said.

“Everyone has a Superdome story about being at an event in the building: the Pope’s visit, a concert, a sporting event, even their prom. I’m sure that love of the dome will be part of any decision made about it,” Menard said.

“It’s been a part of the city’s skyline for 30 years. I hope it will remain a part of the skyline.”

The love of the dome huh?

How about this? Let a news organization publish unedited photos of the trash, the piles of human waste, and the dead bodies that were strewn about the Superdome and then we can see who is in favor of buying a corporately sponsored box seat to watch New Orleans Saints Football.

Forget about the fact that the structure is trashed…people suffered and died in there! The dome is a symbol of pain and agony. There’s no love inside anymore. Dressing up the broken parts and slapping on a new coat of paint won’t remove the hellish memories of the nightmare experienced by the refugees who survived for days in the building. More importantly, bringing the structure up to spec won’t honor the victims who died there.

Talk about an identity crisis! Ophelia has been upgraded to Hurricane status for the fourth time!

Meanwhile, hundreds of people are getting out of the way. Obviously Katrina has had an effect on the attitude of those who would have otherwise rode this one out.

Six years after Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold went on a deadly rampage through Columbine High School, the killer’s parents are fighting to keep their “basement tapes” from public view.

Reporters have already seen and written about the Columbine “basement tapes” of killers Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold showing off their arsenal and eagerly talking about their plan to attack their high school.

But the gunmen’s parents are fighting a newspaper’s request for public release of the videos, audio recordings and writings Harris and Klebold made in the months before they killed 12 students and a teacher in April 1999.

The Colorado Supreme Court was scheduled to hear arguments Tuesday from The Denver Post, the parents and the Jefferson County sheriff’s office, which also opposes the release.

Forget about the legal issues regarding the Harris and Klebold families, the Denver Post or the Jefferson County sheriff’s office for a moment. I can’t see any benefit to releasing these tapes. Aside from then becoming hot tickets on the Internet and P2P file sharing networks, what purpose will they serve?

The videos will only prove what we already know. Eric and Dylan were troubled kids…really, really messed up in the head kids, and a terrible thing happened because of it. There is nothing new to ‘understand’ about these two.

That’s it, that’s all.

As we move further from that day in 2001, more information is released on what did and did not happen.

“Ten minutes after American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) controllers in New York saw United Airlines Flight 175, heading “right towards the city,” but thought it was aiming for an emergency landing at a New York airport, according to FAA documents released this week under the Freedom of Information Act and posted on the web by the National Security Archive. Minutes later, Flight 175 hit the south tower of the World Trade Center.”

Bush gets no slack from La Shawn:

“Your problem, Mr. Bush, is that you’ve failed to harness the power of a conservative government, squandering precious time and resources. Under your reign, the government has grown to ridiculous proportions, more than Ted Kennedy ever dreamed would be possible. And the war on terror started with a bang, but limps along with a whimper. I can only wonder what it would be like to have a real conservative in the White House.”

I predicted this would happen.

Profiteering ghouls have been using debit cards distributed in the wake of Hurricane Katrina – intended to buy essentials for evacuated families – in luxury-goods stores as far away as Atlanta.

“We’ve seen three of the cards,” said a senior employee of the Louis Vuitton store at the Lenox Square Mall in affluent Buckhead, who asked not to be named. “Two I’m certain have purchased; one actually asked if she could use it in the store. This has been since Saturday.” Two women who had made purchases with the card each bought a signature monogrammed Louis Vuitton handbag in the $800 range.

The distinctive white cards were distributed by the Red Cross and the Federal Emergency Management Agency and carry a value of up to $2,000.

Just wait for it…the Left will claim that these people deserve to use government assistance to purchase $800 handbags, because it makes them feel good and not “less than”.

Unbelievable. I’m outraged by this.
