Arafat Burial

Cliff May (over at The Corner) has this to say. He’s dead on.

OVER WHOSE DEAD BODY?
The MSM is attempting to make the case that there is a serious controversy over where Arafat should be buried. Arafat’s supporters want him to be buried in Jerusalem, Israel’s capital.

It won’t happen. It can’t happen.

Arafat never made peace with Israel. He never accepted the existence of the Jewish state. He never seriously renounced terrorism against Israelis. He supported, incited, financed and ordered terrorism against Israeli children as long as he could.

If Ariel Sharon – or any Israeli leader – were to permit Arafat to be buried in Jerusalem – how would he explain that to Arafat’s surviving victims – the burned, the crippled, the scarred-for-life, the maimed? How would he explain that to the families of the victims who did not survive Arafat’s murderous attacks – to the widows, the orphans?

And how would he explain that to the next group of victims who will be murdered, maimed and crippled by suicide bomber acting in Arafat’s name?

The answer is: It could not be explained. It could not be justified.

Also: Americans should remember this: Arafat is the Godfather of modern terrorism.

He pioneered the art and science of the murder of innocent civilians for political benefit way back in the 1960s — with plane hijackings and the murder of American diplomats.

Then, on a September day his organization arranged for the massacre of Israeli athletes who had gone to Munich to compete in the Olympics

For that, Arafat was not punished. He was legitimized, rewarded and celebrated. The road from there to another September day, 29 years later, was being paved.

You’ve Got to be Kidding Me

It didn’t take very long for this to show up. Liberals won’t face the fact that they were defeated on the issues. They reject the fact that Bush’s position on the War on Terror is one that resonates with more Americans than John Kerry’s “Global Test”. They deny the fact that they are not the party of traditional family values. They refuse to believe that their party is not the party of the working man. They turn their backs to the mirror and refused to look at the logic of their loss.

No, instead, they cling to theories like this.

Someone within their ranks needs to step up and lead. They need to call their people together and put an end to the anger, the crazy conspiracy theories, and most of all, they need to call their people to face the truth. If no one comes forward, the Democratic party will be the party of no one.

Poison?

Via Drudge: Palestinian officials accuse the Israelis of poisoning Arafat. If it’s true that he is still alive, and if there remains a chance that he can survive, the rest of his life will be lived in a state of complete paranoia. If he was indeed poisoned, the perpetrator has to be one of his own, an aide close enough to be trusted.

Time to Sit Down

Der Schlickmeister has figured out the reason why Kerry lost. In the immortal words of Al Gore, it’s time for him to go. Rest up Bill, the 2008 campaign will be here soon enough.

DNS Hell

It’s been nearly 48 hours since the PunditGuy blog has been live on the internet. I’ve been in DNS Hell, first awaiting propagation to a new server, then finding out the DNS settings were incorrect, then trying to reset everything, then getting the new DNS settings in to the new blog host…Good Lord, it’s been terrible. Now though, it appears that nameservers are lighting up around the world with the new webserver. Thank GOD.

Sorry for the inconvenience…

A Bigger Pipe

I recently changed hosts for the PunditGuy blog. The previous company just couldn’t deal with the bumps in traffic I’ve received. So, pages should load faster and I should be able to handle more visitors at one time. All good.

NOTICE: If you read this blog via an RSS reader, you’ll want to use the new feed URL (located on the bottom left of the main page.) If you don’t read this via RSS, then the change will be invisible.

If you notice problems, please let me know.

Slow News Day?

Is it merely a coincidence that stories like this appear just days after a heavy news cycle? At the rate in which they appear, I think they are stuck in the newsroom “filler” file.

Allies?

American’s Flock to Canada’s Immigration Website. How much of this is reality and how much of this is propaganda from the Canadians? I have no doubt that there are leftist here in the U.S. that, out of curiosity, checked the requirements for Canadian citizenship. I do think that there is a rising disdain for American politics in Canada, and this piece smacks of an attempt to characterize their country as “open and accepting” and the U.S. as “closed and discriminatory”.
