Al-Qaeda Destroyed in Pakistan

July 25, 2005 by PunditGuy 1 Comment

So says President Pervez Musharraf. According to a report by the BBC, the president claims that the terrorist network no longer has the ability to operate on Pakistani soil. He said the network could not have orchestrated deadly bombings in London, Egypt or elsewhere from his country. In fact, he believes the group isn’t even in Pakistan today.

“Al-Qaeda does not exist in Pakistan any more,” he told reporters in Lahore, after unconfirmed reports Pakistanis were being sought over bombs in Egypt.

Famous last words.

This seems to be contra-indicated by the Pakistani involvement in the London Bombings.
