A grand jury declined to indict Rep. Cynthia McKinney on Friday in connection with an incident in which she admitted hitting a police officer who tried to stop her from entering a House office building.

The grand jury had been considering the case since shortly after the March 29 incident.

It was obvious that McKinney wouldn’t be indicted. No one has the stomach for it anyhow. I mean really…can you imagine how shrill the Congressional Black Caucus would be? It’d be racism this, lynch mob that, anti-women, blah blah blah.

Move along now. Show’s over.

I don’t put much stock into polls, pro or con. Yet, this one is so hilarious it’s worth mentioning.

A new poll found the prospect of a President Hillary Clinton scares more Americans than any other likely 2008 candidate. When a Fox News/Opinion Dynamics Poll asked which of four potential candidates for President “frightens you the most,” 36% said the New York senator. She had some familiar company: former Mayor Rudy Giuliani was next at 17%, followed by former Democratic presidential nominee Al Gore at 15%.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), whom many observers expect to be a formidable candidate, fared best among most-often mentioned hopefuls; only 11% found his candidacy frightening.

Sen. Clinton also troubled independent voters: 25% said they were scared of her running the country, compared to 21% for Gore, 12% for Giuliani and 9% for McCain. Even 22% of Democrats said they were frightened by Hillary, versus just 10% for Gore.

The national survey also pegged President Bush’s job approval at 40%, up from 35% a month ago.

Capitol Hill got the worst marks of all: the poll found 79% feel Congress hasn’t accomplished enough this year to deserve a summer vacation.

I have a hard time accepting as fact that Rudy Giuliani is more frightening than Al Gore.

Now that’s scary!

Today, the U.S. revealed the face of a man alleged to be the “New” Zarqawi.

The military said the picture showed Egyptian-born Abu Ayyub al-Masri, a senior al Qaeda in Iraq operative believed to have taken over the terror network after the killing of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi last week. A standard $250,000 reward for information leading to al-Masri’s death or capture is still in effect and was in force before al-Zarqawi’s death.

With the treasure trove of information gained from Zarqawi’s death, we probably already know where al-Masri is. His body bag has been measured and ordered up.

We do, now more than ever.

U.S. Border Patrol agents came under fire twice, returning fire once, Wednesday night while trying to capture suspected marijuana smugglers who later abandoned more than a half million dollars worth of marijuana. No border patrol agents were hit by the gunfire, said Senior Patrol Agent Sean King, a border patrol spokesman here. The shootings started after a border camera monitor spotted a Mercedes Benz SUV at 7:05 p.m. heading north from the border along a dirt road near the KS Ranch, about six miles southeast of Nogales and about a half mile north of the border, King said.

While the blow-hards in the Senate debate the meaning of the word “amnesty”, we’ve got border patrol agents whose lives are endangered by careless drug smugglers who don’t think twice about unloading a rain of bullets on them just so they can sell their hooch in our country.

Forget about those National Guard “minders” – we need tanks, lots of tanks.

Today he loves evangelicals. Tomorrow, he’ll denounce the “religious right”.

Former President Bill Clinton praised evangelical Christians on Thursday for their recent efforts on global warming and debt relief for poor nations and said he sees growing understanding between people of different faiths. Clinton made the remarks while accepting an award from the Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding. He said that as president he had “a consuming interest in the intersection of religion and politics.”

Actually, as president, I remember Bill Clinton having a consuming interest in the female anatomy more than anything else. I would bet a majority of Americans recall the same. Wasn’t it Former Clinton advisor Dick Morris who described Clinton as having two personas? There is “Saturday Night” Bill and “Sunday Morning” Bill.

Guess he made this statement under the guise of the latter.

Sometimes, God gives us a little whoop upside the head to get our priorities straight.

Ben Roethlisberger apologized to the Pittsburgh Steelers, fans and his family Thursday, a day after leaving the hospital, saying he was fortunate to be alive and promising to wear a helmet if he ever again rides a motorcycle. “In the past few days, I’ve gained a new perspective on life,” the Super Bowl-winning quarterback said in a statement released by the team. “By the grace of God, I’m fortunate to be alive … “

In a world where most famous athletes would try to minimize their mistakes and play a blame game, Roethlisberger bucks the trend. He’s a class act.

Al-Qaida in Iraq has been dealt a crushing blow since last weeks death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Iraq’s national security adviser said Thursday a “huge treasure” of documents and computer records was seized after the raid on terror leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi’s hideout, giving the Iraqi government the upper hand in its fight against al-Qaida in Iraq.

Al-Rubaie said a laptop, flashdrive and other documents were found in the debris after the airstrike that killed the al-Qaida in Iraq leader last week outside Baqouba, and more information has been uncovered in raids of other insurgent hideouts since then.

He called it a “huge treasure … a huge amount of information.”

But the MSM is skeptical (no surprise).

When asked how he could be sure the information was authentic, al-Rubaie said “there is nothing more authentic than finding a thumbdrive in his pocket.”

“We believe that this is the beginning of the end of al-Qaida in Iraq,” al-Rubaie said, adding that the documents showed al-Qaida is in “pretty bad shape,” politically and in terms of training, weapons and media.

One of the items found in the aftermath of the Zarqawi death is a document which describes the current health of al-Qaida in Iraq. The news for the terrorists isn’t good. The U.S. led efforts in Iraq have clearly made a difference. Contrary to the negative news from the MSM and Democrats in Congress, we’ve been winning all along.

A blueprint for trying to start a war between the United States and Iran was among a “huge treasure” of documents found in the hideout of terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Iraqi officials said Thursday.

The document, purporting to reflect al-Qaida policy and its cooperation with groups loyal to ousted President Saddam Hussein, also appear to show that the insurgency in Iraq was weakening.

The document also said al-Zarqawi planned to try to destroy the relationship between the United States and its Shiite allies in Iraq.

While the coalition was continuing to suffer human losses, “time is now beginning to be of service to the American forces and harmful to the resistance,” the document said.

The document said the insurgency was being hurt by, among other things, the U.S. military’s program to train Iraqi security forces, by massive arrests and seizures of weapons, by tightening the militants’ financial outlets, and by creating divisions within its ranks.

“Generally speaking and despite the gloomy present situation, we find that the best solution in order to get out of this crisis is to involve the U.S. forces in waging a war against another country or any hostile groups,” the document said, as quoted by al-Maliki’s office.

According to the summary, insurgents were being weakened by operations against them and by their failure to attract recruits. To give new impetus to the insurgency, they would have to change tactics, it added.

Gee, that sounds like U.S. success to me. Again, we’re winning the war in Iraq. We’re winning because we’re staying the course. We’re not letting up.

Given this new evidence that we’re winning, doesn’t this cut the legs off of Rep. John Murtha’s “get out of Iraq now” policy? What about Senator John Kerry’s call for the U.S. to completely withdraw by the end of 2006? If we leave now, or by December 31st, al-Qaida, even in their weakened state, will win. If we stay and fight, al-Qaida in Iraq will not only lose, they’ll cease to exist. The choice is obvious.

Will Democrats do the right thing and fully support our troops, support the U.S. policy in Iraq, and help us complete the mission, or will they stand with al-Qaida in Iraq by helping them in their jihad?

Mr. Kerry, Mr. Murtha, Ms. Pelosi, Mr. Reid…we await your response.
