Chafee decides to stay Republican, cites others who want him to remain in the party. Uh huh…me thinks a 55 to 44 majority has something to do with his "desire" to be a part of the GOP. I mean, really – who would want to switch to the losing party? The good thing is, with the size of the Republican side, there is less of a need to cow-tow to the stray liberals to guarantee vote passage.
The conversation probably went more like this – "Sure Lincoln, we’ll forget that little comment about wanting to switch parties if Bush wins. Yes Yes Yes, you can still eat in the commissary. No, you won’t have to share an office with Hagel. At least not immediately." (Hat Tip – Poliblog)
