That is what’s causing New York City to enhance security on its mass transit system today. According to FOX News, the threat of a terrorist attack on the subway was investigated and deemed credible.

A NYPD source told FOX News that the threat involved 19 suitcase bombs to be placed in the subway system.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg appeared at a news conference alongside Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly in which they announced the threat and said it was the most specific they had received to date.

“This is the first time we have had a threat with this level of specificity,” Bloomberg said.

For instance, MSNBC: “Sources told NBC that the information came from a single informant of varying credibility…A homeland security official tells NBC News that though the source has “doubtful” credibility, the heightened security in NY is necessary out of an abundance of caution. The source has apparently given some accurate information in the past, and some inaccurate.” CNN reports that DHS sources said that the threat was deemed “not viable” although investigation still ongoing, indicating that DHS possibly would not have released info to public. Fox News & CNN first reported that their DHS sources indicate NO specific credible threat. CBS News’s Jim Stewart cites a source that this is “imagination run amok,” with no suspects currently in the U.S.

Thank God there remains at least one big U.S. corporation that can tell the difference between free speech and indecent radical leftist moonbat chicanery.

A woman was booted off a Southwest Airlines flight for wearing a T-shirt that bore an expletive and images of President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Southwest Airlines spokeswoman Marilee McInnis said several passengers complained about the shirt. She said Southwest rules allow the airline to deny boarding to any passenger whose clothing is “lewd, obscene or patently offensive.”

Lorrie Heasley of Woodland, Wash., said she plans to press a civil-rights complaint against the airline over Tuesday’s action at Reno-Tahoe International Airport, halfway through Heasley’s scheduled trip from Los Angeles to Portland, Ore.

“I have cousins in Iraq and other relatives going to war,” Heasley told the Reno Gazette-Journal. “Here we are trying to free another country and I have to get off an airplane … over a T-shirt. That’s not freedom.

You want freedom Ms. Heasley? Get in your car and drive 2 hours north. Canada awaits you with open arms.

What ever happened to the tradition that ex-presidents keep their political opinions out of the press after they leave office?

It was put into a brown paper bag, lit on fire, laid on the doorstep of the MSM, and promptly stomped out by them after Bill Clinton rang the doorbell.

I don’t understand why George W. Bush even allows this guy to come back into the Oval Office, let alone the White House grounds. Ah yes, it’s because Bush honors and respects the Office of the Presidency, something Bill Clinton spit on cheapened years ago.

His latest shuck and jive was given to Ladies Home Journal. In an article due next month, Clinton says the U.S. is likely to lose in Iraq.

“The odds are not great of our prevailing there.”

Clinton calls the Iraq war “a quagmire” and warns “it could go wrong.”

“Since the end of World War II, the only major foreign power that succeeded in putting down an insurgency was the British putting down the Malay insurgency, but the British stayed 15 years.”

“So you can say for historical reasons, the odds are not great of our prevailing there,” he argued.

And then we get this panic stricken statement from a staff member who spoke to the New York Daily News:

“President Clinton has always been clear that there are reasons for optimism and that there clearly are reasons for concern with the current situation in Iraq. But no one has been clearer than President Clinton about the necessity of winning now that we are there.”

Yet two weeks ago, in an appearance on ABC’s “This Week”, he suggested that the Iraq war was illegitimate.

I’ve never known anyone who is as hell-bent to stay relevant than Bill Clinton. And while he remains a darling of the MSM, he’ll always find a willing outlet who will trip over themselves to broadcast his next round of flatulence.

Yet no matter how hard he tries to be the international elder statesman, and no matter how often he points his finger and blames the Bush administration of ineptness, he cannot, and he will not be able to shake off what history will say about his presidency.

Bill Clinton’s legacy will be forever mired in failure and scandal.

Not news right? Well, neither is this.

It’s pay-back time. Freeh’s axe is now officially on the grinder.

“We were preoccupied in eight years with multiple investigations”

“The problem was with Bill Clinton — the scandals and the rumored scandals, the incubating ones and the dying ones never ended. Whatever moral compass the president was consulting was leading him in the wrong direction. His closets were full of skeletons just waiting to burst out.”

The director sought to distance himself from Clinton because of Whitewater, refusing a White House pass that would have enabled him to enter the building without signing in. This irked Clinton. “I wanted all my visits to be official,” says Freeh. “When I sent the pass back with a note, I had no idea it would antagonize the president.”

Freeh says the most delicate and unsavory of the investigations was the Lewinsky affair, when the FBI needed to obtain a blood sample from the president to match the DNA on the infamous blue dress.

“But we did it … very carefully, very confidentially,” Freeh says. During a scheduled dinner, the president excused himself to go to the bathroom. Instead of the restroom, he entered another room where FBI medical technicians were waiting to take a blood sample.

But wait! There’s more!

Aside from scandals and investigations, Freeh says Clinton let down the American people and the families of victims of the 1996 Khobar Towers terror attack in Saudi Arabia.

After promising to bring to justice those responsible for the bombing that killed 19 and injured hundreds, Freeh says Clinton refused to personally ask Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah to allow the FBI to question bombing suspects the kingdom had in custody — the only way the bureau could secure the interviews, according to Freeh.

Freeh writes in the book, “Bill Clinton raised the subject only to tell the crown prince that he understood the Saudis’ reluctance to cooperate and then he hit Abdullah up for a contribution to the Clinton Presidential Library.”

The former president declined to respond to this charge.

…until someone can tell him what the meaning of is, is.

Too bad there aren’t other Clinton administration era officials who are willing to stand up and tell the truth about his failed tenure of deceit and obstruction.

I’m putting my pre-order in right now.

The way he’s talking, you’d think he might be…floating a run for, uh… …naw, he wouldn’t try that again. Would he?

UPDATE: Whoa! Did you read his speech? Just how many liberal talking points can one fit in a paragraph? Or a sentence for that matter. He’s covering everything he can possibly think of. This address is a moonbat smorgasbord. It’s a late night all-you-can-eat buffet at Shoney’s. In fact, this wasn’t a speech, it was just another AlGore rant. He’ll never get elected to any office if his position on the issues come off as nothing more than lefty ramblings.

George W. Bush is speaking to a gathering of the National Endowment for Democracy right now (7:27 AM PDT). Although a lot of what he’s said so far has been heard in previous speeches, there is an enhanced seriousness in his delivery that I haven’t seen since the days just after 9-11.

He’s in his element, as he usually is when he’s talking about terrorism, the fight against it, and the progress being made to eradicate it.
